JAKARTA - PT Pefindo Biro Kredit (PBK) is optimistic about loan growth this year and estimates that loan growth may reach 10% this year.
Director of PBK, Yohanes Arts Abimanyu said the decrease in risk grade of high-risk debtors from 12.38% to 12.19% was an indication that people's habit to pay their debt is getting better. Furthermore, Pefindo's prediction is still within the target range of Bank Indonesia (BI) and the Financial Services Authority (OJK), which is at the level of 10% to 12%.
Moreover, he continued, the risk grade of debtors with very high risks also decreased from 29.62% in 2018 to 29.15% in 2019. "So we are optimistic that loan growth in 2020 can reach 10%," Yohanes said.
He said that Pefindo hopes to have 334 members by the end of this year. At present, Pefindo has 261 members. (ARM/AR).
