JAKARTA. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) noted that the new and renewable energy (EBT) mix is still 12.36%, far from the government's target of 23%.
Harris, Director of EBT at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, said that the current RBT capacity in Indonesia is only 10.3 gigawatts (GW). To increase the capacity, Harris said the government will build more hybrid power plants using solar and wind power.
Later, said Harris, the hybrid power plants will be integrated with a number of strategic industrial areas. In addition, the hybrid power plants will also be used to provide electricity to the new capital in East Kalimantan.
"We will develop the Kayan hydropower plant project which has a total capacity of around 9,000 MW," Harris said, as quoted by Kontan on Monday (9/3) yesterday. (KR/AR)
