JAKARTA - PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (BMRI) and Microsoft announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Dev Con Microsoft Indonesia Digital Economy Summit.

The MoU was signed by Microsoft Indonesia President Director Haris Izmee and Bank Mandiri President Director Royke Tumilaar and witnessed by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. Collaboration with Microsoft will enable Bank Mandiri to explore how technology can improve competitiveness in the digital world; by increasing customer satisfaction, risk management, employee collaboration and business processes.

"With the aspiration to become the best and leading financial services company in Indonesia and in ASEAN, Bank Mandiri sees this collaboration as a strategic initiative to address the increasingly complex needs of our customers and to capitalize on the rapid growth of digital-based financial services in Indonesia," said the President Director of Bank Mandiri Royke Tumilaar.

The adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and intelligent cloud solutions is expected to change Bank Mandiri's operations to become more efficient and effective. Cloud scale infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and machine learning from Microsoft will analyze millions of books and data points to provide a graph of assessing related information for better decisions, including credit risk evaluation. This will also shorten the data processing, preparation and governance processes. (LM)
