Jembo Cable is targeting markets outside PLN this year

16 March 2020 09:03

JAKARTA. PT Jembo Cable Tbk (JECC) will no longer focus on selling its products to PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) or PLN, since sales to PLN began to slow down.

Antonius Benady, Director of JECC, said that the company will try to push sales to the free market outside PLN to reach 40% of total sales. "Especially large government projects outside PLN and sales through distributors, from around 25% of total sales to 35% or 40%," explained Benady.

So far JECC has targeted two large projects outside PLN. The two projects, said Benady, were those of PT Pertamina (Persero) and PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk (WSKT).

Even so, Benady gave a signal that sales in the first quarter of 2020 will still be below Rp 500 billion. Much lower than sales in the same quarter last year. This is caused by the decline in sales to PLN. (KR/AR)
