Ministry of PUPR builds an access road to Mandalika along 17.4 km

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono ensured that PUPR infrastructure development in the five Super Priority National Tourism Strategic Areas (KSPN) continues and is targeted for completion by the end of 2020.

In the Mandalika KSPN, the budget allocation for PUPR infrastructure in 2020 is Rp 903.4 billion, which was used among others for the construction of the Mandalika KEK flood control, the construction of the Lombok International Airport Bypass (BIL) road, the development of areas in the three Gilis, the development of the Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM) network, Rinjani geopark area and home stay development.

Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono said the construction of the 17.4 Km BIL Bypass road will improve connectivity from the BIL Airport to the Mandalika Tourism Area with a budget of Rp 814 billion and an implementation period of 2020 - 2021. "Currently in the auction stage. It is expected that construction will start in May 2020. For land acquisition, two-thirds have been completed, while the rest will begin to be paid this week and next week," said PUPR Minister Basuki.

Besides that, the construction of the 5 km Mandalika KEK flood control was also targeted to begin construction at the end of March 2020 and be completed in December 2020 with a budget of Rp 75 billion. (LM)
