23 March 2020 08:45

JAKARTA - Collaborating with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Gojek and Halodoc launched the innovative COVID-19 telemedicine Check service to help dealing with Corona Virus (COVID-19) in Indonesia. The online (telemedicine) consulting service is supported by more than 20,000 licensed and experienced doctors in the Halodoc ecosystem. This collaboration was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Monday, March 23 in Jakarta.

The Check COVID-19 telemedicine service from Halodoc is available as a shuffle card in the Gojek application. Millions of Gojek application users can choose the COVID-19 Check shuffle card in the Gojek app, and users will immediately be directed to the COVID-19 Check service on the Halodoc application.

The user can then use Check COVID-19 on the Halodoc application, to consult about health symptoms that are being experienced and conduct a "self-assessment" or self-examination related to COVID-19. If there is a suspicion of suffering from COVID-19, doctors from Halodoc will try to do the treatment by asking the user to remain at home, self isolation at home and prescribed medication will be delivered by Gojek to the user's home.

"We believe this collaboration will strengthen the COVID-19 handling system developed by the government comprehensively. The telemedicine solution offered is very helpful for the Indonesian health system in screening patients at risk for COVID-19. Not only that, Gojek and Halodoc have access to disseminate information and education on COVID-19 prevention to tens of millions of Indonesians,” explained drg. Oscar Primadi, MPH., Secretary General of the Indonesian Ministry of Health.

Gojek and Halodoc will also create new products decentralizing laboratory examinations recommended by the government so that hospitals can focus on patients who need treatment. To support this initiative, Gojek will conduct a private fundraising. Furthermore, at this time Halodoc is giving free consulting services of general practitioners specifically for COVID-19 in its application. (LM)
