Cahayaputra postpones its plan to increase production capacity

24 March 2020 06:27

JAKARTA. PT Cahayaputra Asa Keramik (CAKK), a ceramic manufacturer, postponed its plan to increase production capacity due to the slowing economic condition caused by the outbreak of Covid-19.

President Director of CAKK, Johan Silitonga explained that the decision was made due to the travel ban set by the Indonesian government, which caused delays in the delivery of production equipment.

According to Johan, technicians from Italy and China could not enter Indonesia to install those equipments. Italy is one of the countries with the largest number of Covid-19 patients.

"We must say reluctantly that the addition of production capacity which should be done in the second quarter of 2020 will be postponed," he explained in a disclosure on the Indonesia Stock Exchange on Monday (23/3).

Johan hopes that if conditions improve, the installation of the new machines can be done soon. (AM/AR)
