JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry encourages industry players to play an active role in efforts to tackle the coronavirus (Covid-19) which is currently endemic in Indonesia. One of the strategy is to maintain productivity for industrial sectors related to or being needed by consumers.
"We are determined to create a conducive business climate so that strategic industries continue to run. However, it is necessary to pay attention to the health protocol that has been issued by the government," said Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita in Jakarta on Thursday (3/26).
Industry Minister said he appreciated the domestic food and beverage industry players who maintained their production in order to meet the people's basic needs. The Minister also appealed to prioritize the safety and health of employees while the industry was operating.
The Ministry of Industry also spurred the productivity of personal protective equipment (PPE) industries. Products from this sector are in high demand, especially for medical personnel. PPE that includes clothing, caps, towels, masks, gloves, leg protectors, hand protectors and face protective goggles. (LM)
