AirAsia Indonesia to suspend all passenger flights

JAKARTA - PT AirAsia Indonesia Tbk (CMPP) will temporarily halt all flights from 1 April 2020 in the light of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

In an official statement released on Saturday (28/3), the airline said domestic flights will be suspended until April 21, while international flights will be suspended until May 17.

“AirAsia Indonesia continues to monitor the development of the current situation and will take the necessary mitigation measures to start services when the situation is improving,” the statement said.

AirAsia Indonesia added that affected passengers will receive notification via email or text messages. In addition, passengers can reschedule flights without additional costs with a Credit Account worth the purchase value that can be used to purchase subsequent tickets for the next 365 days.

Aside from AirAsia Indonesia, other member airlines of the AirAsia Group have also suspended flights due to the Covid-19 pandemic. AirAsia Malaysia has suspended all domestic and international flights from March 28 to April 21, while AirAsia Philippines has suspended all flights from March 20 to April 14. (MS)
