KPPU suspends merger and acquisition handling due to Covid-19 pandemic

JAKARTA - The Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) has suspended all trials and handling of public company mergers and acquisition until April 7, 2020 amid the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

According to a statement on KPPU's official website on Monday (30/3), the suspension is based on KPPU Chair's Decree No. 11/KPPU/Kep.1/III 2020 on Revision on KPPU Decree No. 10/KPPU/Kep.1/III 2020 on the Temporary Halt of Law Enforcement Activities within KPPU's Secretariat. However, such activities will likely resume after April 7 depending on the government's Covid-19 handling.

KPPU plans to use an online system for further examination and ruling announcements.s In addition, it has also suspended merger and acquisition notification and assessment from March 17 to April 6. (LK/MS)
