OJK: 4 state-owned banks have restructured the debts of its debtors

JAKARTA. The Financial Services Authority (OJK) noted that as of 31 March 2020, at least four state-owned banks had restructured debts of 168,569 debtors affected by coronavirus (COVID-19) with a total value of Rp 28.7 trillion.

Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of OJK WImboh Santoso stated in a digital meeting with the Commission XI of the House of Representatives on Tuesday (7/4) that the figure came from PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (Rp 14.9 trillion from 134,258 debtors), PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (Rp 4.1 trillion, 10,592 debtors), PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk (Rp 6.9 trillion, 6,238 debtors) and PT Bank Tabungan Negara Tbk (Rp 2.8 trillion, 17,481 debtors).

Wimboh said that his party monitors all banks. "There may be other banks that have restructured debts, but haven't reported it to us," said Wimboh.

At present there are 56 conventional commercial banks, 13 Islamic commercial banks (BUS), and 7 regional development banks (BPD). (AM/AR)
