JAKARTA. PT Pertamina (Persero) is speeding up the construction of the national refinery megaproject to pursue the national energy security target and stop the import of fuel oil (BBM) by 2026.
Fajriyah Usman, Pertamina's Vice President of Corporate Communication, said the progress of the Refinery Development Master Plan (RDMP) and Grass Roof Refinery (GRR) projects has reached quite a long way. Pertamina, said Usman, had carried out a number of works in parallel.
"Such as jetty construction, site development, workshop & warehouse construction, laboratory & HSSE buildings, and other supporting facilities," Usman explained through an official statement.
At the Balikpapan refinery, the refinery development process has reached 15.02% up to the first quarter (Q1) 2020. Meanwhile, Usman said, development at the Balongan and Cilacap refineries is targeted to reach 10% by the end of this year. (KR/AR)
