Japan and India will help provide medicines for Indonesia to fight COVID-19

JAKARTA - The Japanese and Indian governments will provide support for Indonesia in fighting COVID-19 by providing medicines. This was conveyed by Japanese Foreign Minister Motegi Toshimitsu and Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar to Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, last week.

As quoted from Setkab.go.id page on Sunday (12/4), the Indonesian Embassies in Tokyo and New Delhi have coordinated with related parties in Japan and India to realize cooperation in the procurement of medicines using government to government (G to G) and business to business (B to B) scheme.

The Japanese government will provide Avigan to a number of countries, including Indonesia. Meanwhile, India will provide several types of medicines, including Oseltamivir, Chloroquine, and Hydrochloroquine Sulfate. (LK/AR)
