BTN restructures loans for 17,000 debtors affected by COVID-19 pandemic

JAKARTA - PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BBTN) has restructured loans of 17,000 debtors affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

According to BTN Finance, Planning, and Treasury Director Nixon L.P. Napitupulu, the company has classified online restructuring requests from debtors in accordance with the government's direction on loan relaxation during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Currently the bank has 2 million debtors with loans amounting to Rp 250 rillion, while restructuring requests have amounted to Rp 2.7 trillion, including subsidised mortgages worth below Rp 10 billion in accordance with the Financial Services Authority's (OJK) regulation).

"So far there have been over 17,000 debtors with restructured loans. Thousands more have filed restructuring requests," said Mr Napitupulu in an official statement. (ARM/MS)
