JAKARTA. PT Kalbe Farma (Persero) Tbk (KBLF) is exploring collaborations with several overseas companies to produce drugs and medical equipment to tackle the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
This was confirmed by Kalbe Farma Corporate Secretary Lukito Kurniawan Gozali in a stock exchange filing published on Friday (17/4). "We are open to the possibility of collaboration and technology transfer," said Mr Gozali.
In addition, said Mr Gozali, Kalbe Farma is also prepared to conduct Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) testing. However, the facility will only be used to receive samples from referral hospitals instead of directly to patients.
The testing will be carried out by Kalbe Farma's subsidiary KalGen Innolab. (KR/MS)
