JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance has granted tax exemption for the import of medicine and health equipment to tackle the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The incentive is stipulated in Minister of Finance’s Regulation No. 34/PMK.04/2020 on Customs and/or Excise and Tax Facilities for the Import of Goods to Handle the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Pandemic.
According to the regulation, there are import duty, value-added tax (VAT) on luxurious goods, and Article 22 of the Income Tax exemptions for health products including ventilators, personal protective equipment (PPE), masks, hand sanitisers, gloves, disinfectants, rapid testing kit, PCR testing kit, drugs, and vitamins.
