Head of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia stated that investment realization in Q1 2020 had reached 23.8% of the total target in 2020 of Rp 886.1 trillion. "The first quarter of this year was quite difficult because of the COVID-19 outbreak, but thank God, it did not miss the target. In fact, there is an increase of 8% compared to last year, "he said quoted from setkab.go.id page on Tuesday (21/4).

According to him, PMDN rose from Rp 87.2 trillion to Rp 112.7 trillion in the same period in 2019., while foreign investment (PMA) fell by 9.2% from Rp 107.9 trillion to Rp 98 .0 trillion.

The total absorption of Indonesian workers (TKI) also increased to 303,085 workers, compared to its level in Q1 2019 of 235,401 workers. "Surely this is good news. More labour is absorbed this year. We also ask for a commitment from businesses not to lay off its employees in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is important to maintain the nation's economy, "he said. (LK/AR)
