PLN will ask for debt reprofiling

JAKARTA. PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) will ask to postpone its debt payments to foreign banks or domestic banks that will mature in 2020.

President Director of PLN Zulkifli Zaini said that his party would ask its creditors to reprofile its debts to the following year. This was revealed by him at a  Hearing Meeting (RDP) with Commission VII of the House of Representatives (DPR). 

At the end of the first quarter of 2019, PLN's debt was recorded at Rp 394.18 trillion. Its foreign creditors include DBS Group, Korea Development Bank, MUFG Financial Group, Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp, Sumitomo Mitsui Financial, United Overseas Bank, Bank of China and Cathay United Bank

Meanwhile, its domestic creditors are PT Bank Negara Indonesia, Tbk (BNI) acting as a syndication agent, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia, Tbk (BRI) and PT Bank Mandiri, Tbk. Then there are PT Bank Mandiri Syariah (BSM), PT Bank BNI Syariah (BNIS), PT Bank BRI Syariah (BRIS) and PT Bank Permata - Sharia Business Unit (Bank Permata UUS).

Zulkifli said that his party would also ask for relief from the government related to payment. (AM/AR)
