Darma Henwa coal delivery soars 19.43% in first quarter

JAKARTA - PT Darma Henwa Tbk (DEWA) continues to record growth in production performance, as seen from the increase in coal delivery contributed by all of the company's coal mining projects. In the first quarter of 2020, DEWA's coal delivery reached 4.23 million tons, or grew by 19.43% from 3.54 million tons in the first quarter of last year.

Coal delivery at the Bengalon coal mining project in East Kalimantan Province grew 17.54% to 2.25 million tons. Then, coal delivery in the Asam Asam coal mine project in South Kalimantan Province rose 18.70% to 1.76 million tons. Lastly, coal delivery of the Satui coal mine project in South Kalimantan Province increased by 52.01% to 217,705 tons.

"This shows an increase in Darma Henwa's operating performance, along with the improvement and addition of tools as well as increased productivity and effective working hours. In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, the company continues to strive so that mining operations can run well while maintaining health and safety," said DEWA Corporate Secretary Mukson Arif Rosyidi in a release.

Improved operational performance was also seen in overburden removal which recorded 31.84 million bcm during the first quarter of this year. This figure is up 27.78% compared to 24.92 million bcm in the first quarter of last year. (LM)
