Surya Cita Media completes acquisition of 50% stake in Benson Media Kreasi

JAKARTA - PT Surya Cita Media Tbk (SCMA), operator of SCTV, has officially acquired a 50% stake in offline event organiser PT Benson Media Kreasi (BMK).

According to SCMA Corporate Secretary Gilang Iskandar, the acquisition has been approved by BMK's shareholders and reported to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights on Monday (20/4). By acquiring a stake in BMK, SCMA seeks to strengthen its entertainment and advertising businesses.

BMK was founded by Bernhard Agus Subiakto, who is also the founder of BASE Film Studio, Allstars.id, IDEAFest, Wonderfest, Jakarta Halal Things, and a number of e-sport events. "The [SCMA's] board of directors is confident that this acquisition will improve the company's position and performance as a fully integrated media company," said Mr Iskandar. (LK/MS)
