JAKARTA. PT Vale Indonesia (INCO) managed to increase its production by 35% in Q1 2020 to 17,614 tons of nickel in matte, since the company is still operating in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

Febriany Eddy, Deputy CEO of PT Vale Indonesia Tbk, said that in terms of sales, the company also had no problems because it had signed long-term contracts with consumers in Japan and Canada.

"Supported by the contractors, we are still able to carry out operations safely in accordance with the target,  enabling us to record good production volumes," Febriany said as quoted from KONTAN last week.

She further said that the company's performance will be affected when the price of nickel was corrected, which may affect the company's revenue. On the other hand, production costs declined due to lower oil prices, said Febriany. (AM/AR)
