JAKARTA. The Financial Services Authority (OJK) estimates that banks need liquidity assistance of Rp 83.98 trillion for credit restructuring.

OJK and the financial industry agree that the number of potentially restructured Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) loans is around 40-50% of total loans from that sector.

Using the assumption of 50%, the total outstanding loans for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to be restructured reach Rp 679.24 trillion.

Chairman f OJK's Board of Commissioners Wimboh Santoso believes BUKU IV banks and state-owned banks have no liquidity problems because they still have SUNs that can be repoed to BI. "So this is a conservative figure, " he explained in a virtual meeting with Commission XI of the House of Representatives on Wednesday (6/5).

While finance companies are expected to restructure Rp 79.9 trillion, thus they requiring liquidity assistance of Rp 31.33 trillion. (AM/AR)
