BRI's net profit increased 3.25% in Q1 2020

JAKARTA - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) experienced a 3.25% increase in net profit, from Rp 8.04 trillion (Q1/2019) to Rp 8.30 trillion (Q1/2020).

According to the interim financial statements, the success was supported by growth in interest and sharia income, 5.60%, from Rp 28.08 trillion (Q1/2019) to Rp 29.65 trillion (Q1/2020) and operational income, 50.76%, from Rp 5.21 trillion (Q1/2019) to Rp 7.85 trillion (Q1/2020). Expenses also rose, albeit less, such as 2.59% increase in income and sharia expense, from Rp 9.38 trillion (Q1/2019) to Rp 9.62 trillon (Q1/2020) and 20.75% increase in operational expense, from Rp 9.44 trillion (Q1/2019) to Rp 11.40 trillion (Q1/2020). As a result, operational income grew 3.02% from Rp 9.96 trillion (Q1/2019) to Rp 10.26 trillion (Q1/2020).

During the same period, BBRI noted a 2.87% growth in credit disbursement, from Rp 859.56 trillion (Q1/2019) to Rp 884.25 trillion (Q1/2020). Meanwhile, third party funds also rose, 0.88%, from Rp 969.74 trillion (Q1/2019) to Rp 978.32 trillion (Q1/2020), of which are giro, which rose 0.45% to Rp 168.59 trillion (Q1/2020), savings, which dropped 4.13% to Rp 387.64 trillion (Q1/2020), and time deposits, which rose 6.17% to Rp 422.09 trillion (Q1/2020).
