As of April, Pelindo I Sei Pakning records positive performance

MEDAN - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia I (Persero) Sei Pakning Branch in Bengkalis Regency, Riau recorded positive performance during January to April 2020.

The number of ship traffic served by Sei Pakning Port from January to April 2020 was recorded at 372 calls, up by 31.45 percent compared to the same period in 2019 of 283 calls. This increase was driven by increase in industry as a hinterland around the port resulting in an increase in production.

"The main business services of Sei Pakning Port are marine services, namely pilot, tug, and Ship to Ship (STS) Transfer services. These marine services activities from the Pilot Station located in the Morong Strait to the STS area in Sei Pakning, Pertamina's Special Terminal (Tersus), Ladinda Loading Point, the Terminal for Self-interest (TUKS) of PT Riau Andalan Pulp and Paper (RAPP) in Futong, and Tanjung Buton public port," explained General Manager of Pelindo 1 Sei Pakning Branch, Al Abrar.

Sei Pakning Port is in the Bengkalis Strait supported by a 60-meter-long guide jetty with a depth of -6m Lws, 2 units of pilot ship, 12 pilot, and has implemented ISPS (International Ship and Port Security) Code and has a regional office in Bengkalis Port. For information, marine services activities, especially pilot and tug boat services are the main services performed by Pelindo 1 Sei Pakning. (LM)
