102 banks may conduct credit restructuring

JAKARTA. At least 102 banks may conduct restructuring with outstanding loans reaching Rp 1,114.5 trillion and 7.8 million debtors.

Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of OJK, Wimboh Santoso, revealed that the figure is around 20% of the total outstanding loans, which reached Rp 5,536 trillion as of February 2020.

Meanwhile, as of 4 May 2020, as many as 88 banks have conducted restructuring with the number of debtors reaching 3.9 million and outstanding loans of Rp 336.9 trillion. Of that amount, 3.4 million debtors came from micro, small and medium business (MSME) sector with outstanding loans of Rp 167.1 trillion, according to data from the OJK published in OJK Update last week.
