Citibank N.A., Indonesia books Rp 1 trillion in first quarter net profit

JAKARTA - Citibank N.A., Indonesia (Citibank) posted a net profit of Rp 1 trillion in the first quarter of 2020, and a Return on Equity (ROE) of 22.5% and a Return on Assets (ROA) of 5.6% in the same period.

"Although no one knows how big or long the impact of this virus has on the domestic economy, we have the resources needed to serve our customers, prioritizing safety and security. We remain committed to serving our customers well, and through this challenging time together. At this time, I also want to thank Citibank Indonesia's employees for giving their best to support our customers and the community," said CEO of Citibank N.A., Indonesia Batara Sianturi in a release.

Now, more than half of Citibank's customers interact digitally, with a growth of around 69% year-on-year in using the Citi Mobile App. Citibank recorded a Minimum Capital Adequacy Requirement (KPMM) of 26.3% and RIM of 62.4%. In addition, Citibank also continues to maintain credit quality by reporting Gross and Net NPLs of 2.3% and 0.2%, respectively. (LM)
