SUKABUMI - The Sukabumi City Government has slashed the city’s hotel and restaurant tax by 25% to provide relief for entrepreneurs in the sector during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

“The Sukabumi City Government has provided an incentive for hotels and restaurants in the form of a 25% tax cut for entrepreneurs in the sector,” Sukabumi Mayor Achmad Fahmi told Antara, Monday (25/5).

The incentive, said Mr Fahmi, will help reduce hotels and restaurants’ costs including maintenance and employee salaries as well as preventing employee termination.

“Despite the pandemic, the economy needs to keep moving. Thus, we are always trying to find appropriate solutions so that the economic impact of COVID-19 can be minimised,” the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) politician added. (MS)
