JAKARTA. Grab and PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TPI), has agreed to provide a second relaxation package for its driver-partners for vehicle rental payment for 2 months.

Neneng Goenadi, Managing Director of Grab Indonesia, said that Grab has provided the first relaxation package, in the form of credit restructuring for its driver-partners who use vehicle ownership loans from the OTO and BCA Finance groups. For this second relaxation package, it will be given during April, May, June, and so on.

"We are looking for a solution that can benefit all parties, the driver certainly needs to be assisted and TPI also needs to maintain its business continuity," Goenadi explained through an official statement to idnfinancials.com.

Goenadi added, Grab will implement COVID-19 prevention protocol on its driver-partners through the Grab Protect program. This program will be done following the supply of 5 thousand special fleets of Grab Protect cars in a number of cities in Indonesia. "We hope this can protect people who still have to do activities outside the home during the large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) period," Goenadi explained.

For information, TPI is a partner of Grab that provides car rental services. In 2019, TPI and Grab were once sued in the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) because they were considered detrimental to many of the driver-partners. (KR/AR)
