Four toll road sections will be operational in June 2020

JAKARTA - PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said, there are four new toll road sections that are ready to operate in the near future. The four toll roads, which are part of the National Strategic Project (PSN), are planned to be operational by the end of June 2020.

"Infrastructure development continues to run during the COVID-19 pandemic. In June 2020, hopefully, the 14 kilometer section of the Banda Aceh-Sigli section will be inaugurated. Now we’re running the functional feasibility test for its operation," Minister Basuki said in a release on Friday (5/29/2020).

Furthermore, Minister Basuki said, the targeted toll roads that will be operational this year are the Pekanbaru-Dumai segment with a length of 131 kilometers which is currently in the process of feasibility test. The Pekanbaru - Dumai Toll Road was built with a total investment cost of Rp 16.21 trillion.

The next toll road that is ready to operate is Manado-Kauditan as long as 21 km, part of the Manado-Bitung toll road. Last toll road section to be operational is the section 1 and 5 of the Balikpapan-Samarinda (Balsam) toll road as long as 33 km. Balsam toll road is expected to cut logistics costs for goods and services and travel time between Balikpapan and Samarinda from around 3 hours to 1 hour.

"Then, toll roads that are targeted to be ready for operation by the end of 2020, among others are the Makassar City Pettarani Flyover Toll Road, then Cibitung-Cilincing at JORR and also the Krian-Legundi-Bunder Manyar toll road in East Java," said Minister Basuki. (LM)
