Ministry of Finance disburses Rp 10.45 billion in incentives for COVID-19 medical frontliners

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance has so far disbursed Rp 10.45 billion in incentives for medical frontliners in the handling of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, said Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati.

“1,205 medical personnel have received Rp 10.450 billion in incentives,” Ms Indrawati said in a video conference on Wednesday (3/6) as quoted by Antara. The funds, she added, were disbursed to frontliners working in emergency hospitals at the Kemayoran Athletes Village, Central Jakarta and in the Galang Island, Riau Islands.

According to Ms Indrawati, currently the Ministry of Health is verifying incentives for medical personnel in 19 hospitals in Jakarta and 110 hospitals outside Jakarta.

Overall, the Ministry of Finance has budgeted Rp 1.9 trillion in incentives for medical personnel in Jakarta and Rp 3.7 trillion for those outside Jakarta.

“We will continue to encourage and support the speedy disbursement of these incentives. The Ministry of Health is responsible for allocating the funds,” Ms Indrawati said. (MS)
