JAKARTA - Former PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) III (Persero) CEO Dolly Parlagutan Pulungan has been sentenced to five years in prison with a fine of Rp 300 million in subsidiary of three months’ imprisonment.

Pulungan has been found guilty of receiving S$345,000 (Rp 3.55 billion) in bribes from PT Fajar Mulia Transindo CEO Pieko Nyotosetiadi in relation to a sugar distribution long-term contract in 2019.

“The court has adjudged that the defendant is sentenced to five years’ imprisonment with a fine of Rp 300 million in subsidiary of three months’ imprisonment,” Judicial Panel Chairman M. Siradj said in the sentencing at the Jakarta Corruption Court via video conference on Wednesday (3/6) as quoted by Antara.

The sentence is lighter than the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) prosecutor’s demand that Pulungan be sentenced to six years in prison with a fine of Rp 300 million in subsidiary of six months’ imprisonment.

In addition, the court also rejected Pulungan’s request that he serve as a justice collaborator, which was lodged in a letter on 22 January 2020. (MS)
