JAKARTA - The government is formulating the criteria for the provision of stimulus for the industrial sector, especially sectors that absorb lots of labor. The stimulus will be in the form of credit restructuring, working capital, and cover for energy costs.
As quoted from a press release on Friday (5/6), Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said the Ministry of Industry is preparing various criteria for the business sector that will get the stimulus. "One of the criteria is related to employment," he said.
According to him, the labor-intensive industrial sector needs special attention in order to remain able to operate and prevent massive layoffs.
Credit and working capital stimulus for the manufacturing industry have been included in the PEN program, which is contained in Government Regulation No.23 / 2020 on the national economic recovery program. (LK/AR)
