OJK: Banking sector is stable

JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) ensures that the banking sector is now stable, and people can continue to conduct banking transactions properly. This was conveyed by the OJK in response to a rumor which states that banks are unstable due to COVID-19. 

In a press release published yesterday (10/6), Anto Prabowo, Deputy Commissioner for Public Relations and Logistics at OJK conveyed that the stability of the banking sector is currently reflected in a number of things, including capital adequacy ratio (22.13%), gross non-performing loans (NPL) (2.89%). Also , the ratio of liquid assets/non-core deposits and liquid assets/deposits in April 2020, was observed at the level of 117.8% and 25.14%, far above the threshold of 50% and 10%.

He said the OJK and the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) will continue to coordinate so that the interest of customers can be protected. (LK/AR)
