Ministry of Health partners medical training provider Docquity to hire and train COVID-19 volunteers

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health has partnered digital medical training platform Docquity to recruit and provide online training for coronavirus (COVID-19) volunteers.

The partnership began with the signing of an agreement between the ministry and Docquity on March 19, 2020, the day Docquity officially became a member of the Indonesian Telemedical Association (Atensi). According to official data as of June 11, 887 doctors have registered to volunteer, consisting of 677 general practisioners (GPs) and 210 specialists.

"As a member of the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI), Docquity welcomes collaboration with the Ministry of Health in the recruitment process and provides training for medical personnel to treat COVID-19 through our platform," Docquity co-founder Amit Vithal said in an official statement received by IDNFinancials.com, Saturday (20/6).

"Online training and recruitment which is held by Docquity and fully supported by the Health Minister is giving impacts not only for the healing of patients, but also the safety of patients and medical officers involved in the services based on WHO (World Health Organization) standards."

Founded in 2016 by Indian-based Mr Vithal and Indranil Roychowdury, Docquity's platform now connects over 80,000 GPs and specialists in Indonesia and tens of thousands more in Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand. In Indonesia, the startup partners IDI and the Indonesian Dental Association (PDGI) to provide training for doctors including through webinars and online lecturers. (MS)
