BKPM forms a task force to facilitate US and Japanese investors to move to Indonesia

JAKARTA. The Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) formed a special task force to facilitate US and Japanese investors who want to move their business from China to Indonesia.

This was stated by Bahlil Lahadalia, Head of BKPM, via a press release on Monday (22/6). "I made a task force under my direct command," Lahadalia said.

The task force, said Lahadalia, will detect which companies are planning to move their business. Then, the task force will also examine the ease of investment in other countries, and made it easy for investors to negotiate in Indonesia.

So far, Lahadalia admitted that there have been a number of investors who have moved their investments to Indonesia. "Some of them have reached 60% (the relocation process to Indonesia), some others are still considering," said Lahadalia.

For information, the United States and Japan are included in the list of 10 major investors in Indonesia. With an investment realization during the first quarter (Q1) 2020 of US$ 604.2 million and US$ 114.1 million, respectively. (KR/AR)
