Merdeka Copper Gold will issue bonds in order to raise funds to pay its debt

JAKARTA. PT Merdeka Coppergold Tbk (MDKA), a company engaged in the metal and mineral mining industry with the largest market capitalization in Indonesia, will issue bonds worth Rp 1.4 trillion to raise funds to pay its maturing debts.

MDKA management is currently conducting the book building. The bonds will be offered in two series; Series A and B. The series A bonds will be issued with a tenor of 367 calendar days, while the series B bonds will be offered with a tenor of 3 years from the issuance date. The principal valu and coupon rate for the bonds have not been established.

MDKA appointed PT Indo Premier Sekuritas, PT CIMB Niaga Sekuritas, and PT Sucor Securitas as the guarantor for the bonds. Meanwhile, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) was appointed as trustee.

MDKA estimates that the bond offering period will take place on 24 July and 27 July 2020. (KR/AR)
