JAKARTA. BP Jamsostek recorded that the total claims for old-age benefits (JHT) in the first six months of 2020 was much higher than the record in the previous years. Most of the claims were made by employees who resigned from their company.

Data owned by BP Jamsostek showed that during the first six months of 2020, 1.15 million workers had filed JHT claims. That number is much higher that the figure recorded in 2017 (816,095 claims), 2018 (840,619 claims), and 2019 (924,460 claims).

Service Director of BP Jamsostek, Krishna Syarif, explained that most of the claims were made by resigned employees.

Previously, BP Jamsostek anticipated that many people would file claims due to massive layoffs. (AM/AR)
