JAKARTA - PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero) was asked to recheck the infrastructure financing proposal submitted by the regional government to ensure that the loan facility will really be used for infrastructure development. This was stated by Achmad Hatar, Deputy Chairman of Commission XI of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) during a public hearing meeting with SMI Director Edwin Syahruza held on Thursday (9/7).
According to Hatar, SMI should give the facility to areas that really need it. "I have seen that in Manado and Belitung, to this day the land issue is still not resolved. Therefore, the status of the land must be checked again. In the past, we checked there. The road has not functioned, if it rains for two hours, then it will flood. Regarding the land issue, I once checked with the relevant governor, apparently, it was not resolved, "he said.
In addition, he highlighted SMI's responses to proposals made by local governments. SMI still provides loans to regions that have applied for loans but do not have the ability to repay. (LK/AR)
