JAKARTA - PT Pindad (Persero), an arms manufacturer, produces ventilators and respirators that will be used to treat COVID-19 patients. Both devices have been tested by the Health Facilities Safety Center (BPFK).
As quoted from a press release published on Friday (10/7), Abraham Mose, President Director of PT Pindad (Persero) said that Pindad has conducted extensive research to create both devices, and they have passed BPFK and Ministry of Health's tests. "In the near future, we will meet the Minister of Defense to state this to him. Maybe we will give out some of the ventilators to the Army Hospital, "he said.
According to him, if the demand for both devices increase, the company will consider continuing production. "We will continue the research and development of other medical devices other than ventilators," he said. (LK/AR)
