Indonesia's export to Switzerland reached more than US$ 1 billion

16 July 2020 13:17

JAKARTA - Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the value of Indonesia's exports to Switzerland in the first five months of this year experienced a significant growth.

Muliaman Hadad, Indonesian Ambassador to Switzerland said that the growth was mainly caused by the intensive promotion and cooperation between Indonesia and Switzerland. "The value of Indonesia's exports to Switzerland in the first five months of 2020 reached more than US$ 1 billion, higher than its record for the whole year in 2019 of US$ 988 million," he said, as quoted from Setkab.go.id page on Thursday (16/7).

According to him, Indonesia's imports from Switzerland in the first five months of 2020 reached US$ 308 million, 74% higher than its record in the same period in 2019.

"This is our chance to take advantage of this opportunity because supply chains from other sources may be disrupted by a pandemic," Hadad said. (LK/AR)
