JAKARTA - The Ministry of Trade facilitates the business matching of a number of exporters of processed foods and spices in Indonesia with Canadian importers. The business matching will be held in four sessions until the end of the year to boost trade amid the sluggish exports.

Kasan, Director General of National Export Development, believes that exports are facing challenges due to the implementation of the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB). "The lockdown policy imposed by many export destination countries, including suppliers of raw materials, does not dampen the spirit of exports of Indonesian processed food and beverage products," he said in a press release published on Friday (17/7).

According to him, processed food and beverage products from Indonesia are still badly needed by the market. Therefore, serious efforts need to be made to keep export performance growing.

The Ministry of Trade, said Kasan, had presented the profile of each businesses participating in the trade exploration to the Canadian importers and vice versa. This was done, he said, so that exporters and importers can establish communication before the day of the event. (LK/AR)
