Indonesia will try to increase export of processed food to Spain

JAKARTA. The Indonesian government seeks to boost the export of processed food products to grow by taking opportunities in all countries in Europe, especially Spain.

According to Kasan, Director General of National Export Development, there are a lot of demands for processed food and beverage products, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"This can be seen from the growth in the value of Indonesia's processed food exports (7.9%) in the period of January-April 2020 of US$ 1.33 billion," Kasan said through an official statement.

The Ministry of Trade noted that the exports of Indonesian food and beverage products to Spain during the period of January-April 2020 was recorded at US $ 7.9 million. In the past 5 years, the value of Indonesia's processed food exports to Spain grew by 7.38%.

A number of Indonesian food and beverage products exported to Spain including pineapple with 58% market share, processed fish (9.35% market share), processed tuna (7.23% market share), and other processed foods (12.03% market share) . (KR/AR)
