JAKARTA - The Cilacap refinery is being prepared for a production trial of green aviation fuel at the end of this year. That was said by Nickle Widyawati, President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) in a press statement published on Thursday (7/23).
The trial, she said, was part of a biorefinery development roadmap to realize green energy in Indonesia. Later, two other standalone biorefineries (SB) wll be built in Cilacap and Plaju.
According to her, The Cilacap SB will be able to produce green fuel with a capacity of 6,000 barrels per day (BPD), while the SB in Plaju has a capacity of 20,000 BPD. Both of them will later produce green diesel and green aviation fuel made from vegetable oil.
In line with that, Pertamina has also tested green gasoline. Pertamina will become the first green gasoline producer in the world. The production trials of green gasoline have been successfully carried out in the Plaju and Cilacap refineries in 2019 and 2020. (LK/AR)
