OmniSci partners Gunadarma University to launch centre of excellence

JAKARTA - Analytics accelerator OmniSci has partnered Gunadarma University to launch a centre of excellence (CoE) with a focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and data science.

The CoE, established in collaboration with AI computation firm NVIDIA and IT solution provider Epsindo, functions as a resource centre to provide proofs of concept for innovation and AI solution to help companies in Indonesia with their digital transformation.

"AI and data preparedness reflect a golden opportunity for Indonesia with potential benefits in terms of speed and scale for industries such as telecommunication, financial services, retail, health, and the public sector," said OmniSci VP for Industry Verticals Herfini Haryono in an official statement received by IDNFinancials.com, Wednesday (29/7).

"The investment made by OmniSci and our partners in this centre of excellence is a statement of our vision and commitment to Indonesia, in line with the strong market growth in the country and at a regional level."

According to Gunadarma University Rector Prof E.S. Margianti, the collaboration is part of the university's commitment to encourage advancement in education through partnerships with industry leaders.

"We are very pleased to partner OmniSci, NVIDIA, and Epsindo to inspire critical thinking, develop a future-oriented curriculum, and provide a wider exposure in next generation technologies such as AI and analytic acceleration to produce future thinkers, innovators, and leaders in Indonesia," said Dr Margianti.

Established in 2013, OmniSci is a software company based in San Francisco, United States that focuses on processing graphics to visualise big data. The company is backed by several prominent investors including Google Ventures, NVIDIA, and Verizon Ventures. (MS)
