Campina Ice Cream's net profit declines by 53% due to COVID-19

JAKARTA. PT Campina Ice Cream Industry Tbk (CAMP), an ice cream company, recorded a 52.98% decline in its net profit (YoY) in the first half (1H) of 2020 to Rp 14.93 billion.

CAMP's management said that the decline was mainly caused by the the company's sales performance, which declined by 8.75% YoY to Rp 459 billion,  while its cost of goods sold only dropped by 8.6% YoY.

In mid-July, management said that the company's operations was still affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the company is trying to make innovations to maintain its sales. \

"The introduction of home delivery is one of the company's strategies to increase consumer purchasing power," CAMP's management said in its information disclosure.

CAMP is targeting to record sales of Rp 949 billion in 2020, 11% lower than its sales in 2019, which reached Rp 1.02 trillion. (KR/AR)
