The government asks KreditPlus to clarify its data leak case

JAKARTA. The Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) and the Financial Services Authority (OJK) have requested clarification and a report from KreditPlus, a financing platform, which was allegedly leaked and sold the data of its customers illegally on the black market.

The news about the data leak began circulating on social media this week. A highly reputable user, "ShinyHunters" offered personal details of 896,169 KreditPlus users in Raidforum, a marketplace.

Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan, Director General of ICT Applications, said that his party had sent a letter to KreditPlus.

According to data compiled by idnfinancials.com, KreditPlus is a platform controlled by PT Finansia Multi Finance. This company has been operating since 1994 in the field of financial services. This company has also been registered and supervised by OJK.

Previously, OJK also admitted that it asked for a clarification from KreditPlus. "We are currently asking for confirmation," said Sekar Putih Djarot, a spokesperson for the OJK.

So far, there has been no official statement from KreditPlus regarding the process of investigating the leak. (KR/AR)
