JAKARTA. The government is committed to allocating a budget of Rp 356.5 trillion in the 2021 Draft State Budget to continue the National Economic Recovery (PEN) program.
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) stated in his speech on the Law of the State Budget Draft and Financial Notes on Friday (14/8) that the budget would be directed at six sectors. First, health management with a budget of around Rp. 25.4 trillion for the procurement of antiviral vaccines, health facilities and infrastructure, laboratories, research and development, as well as BPJS Healthcare contribution.
Second, social protection for the lower middle class (Rp 110.2 trillion). Third, Ministries / Institutions and Local Governments (Rp 136.7 trillion), which are aimed at increasing tourism, food security and fisheries, industrial estates, ICT development, loans to regions, as well as anticipating economic recovery.
Fourth, support for MSMEs (Rp 48.8 trillion), through interest subsidies for People's Business Credit, MSME financing, guarantees and placement of funds in banks. Fifth, corporate financing (Rp 14.9 trillion) and sixth, business incentives (Rp 20.4 trillion). (AM/AR)
