JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) emphasized the importance of reforming national regulations to prevent overlapping, which may hinder policy implementation and innovation. This was conveyed by Jokowi in his remarks at the National Action to Prevent Corruption event in Jakarta on Wednesday (26/8).
According to him, some regulations need to be informed due to overlapping or reguiring complicated procedures, causing bureaucratic officials to hesitate to execute policies for innovation purposes. "They must be reformed and simplified," said the Head of State.
A new tradition to synchronize policies, said Jokowi, has been started with the by omnibus law (Law of Job Creation), which synchronize various laws into one.
Joko Widodo emphasized that law enforcers should not take advantage of the asynchronous regulations. "I have said this many times, do not take advantage of the asynchronous law to scare executives, entrepreneurs and other people," he said. (LK/AR)
