JAKARTA - PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (KLBF) estimates that the investment required to produce the COVID-19 vaccine will reach Rp 500 billion-Rp 1 trillion for 50 million doses. This was conveyed by Bernadus Karmin Winata, Finance Director of PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (KLBF) in a public expose sheet published on Tuesday (1/9).
"The amount of investment depends on the number of vaccine that must be provided," he said.
He explained, KBLF was communicating with the government and other stakeholders regarding the plan to build the vaccine production facility. As a public company, he said, Kalbe also has the right to take an initiative to help overcome the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to him, the company will prepare an investment of Rp 10 billion-Rp 20 billion for clinical trials of the COVID-19 vaccine, not including the cost for the construction of the vaccine production facility. (LK/AR)
