JAKARTA - Central Kalimantan's food estate area will be ready for planting in October 2020, said Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono.
The ministry is currently completing irrigation and tillage systems in the region. "In the first stage, rice will be planted in 32,000 hectares of land in October 2020," Mr Hadimuljono said in an official statement from the Cabinet Secretariat's website, Wednesday (2/9).
According to him, 133,000 hectares will be developed further in 2021, bringing the total food estate area to 165,000 hectares. The region will be completed and ready for planting by the end of 2021. (LK/MS)
